In June, inflows into equity mutual funds increased by 17% to ₹40,608 crore from ₹34,697 crore in May. As a result, the total assets under management (AUM) of equity mutual funds reached approximately ₹27.68 lakh crore as of June 30, 2024, compared to ₹25.39 lakh crore on May 31, according to AMFI data.
Contributions through systematic investment plans (SIPs) reached ₹21,262 crore, up from ₹20,904 crore in May, as per the data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
In June, the number of new SIPs registered was 55,12,962, with the closing balance of SIP accounts standing at 8,98,66,962.
Equity inflows in April were ₹18,917 crore. In contrast, debt mutual funds saw a total outflow of ₹1,07,357 crore, following an inflow of ₹42,295 crore in May.
In June, inflows into different categories of equity mutual funds were as follows:
- Inflows into large cap mutual funds rose to ₹970 crore from ₹663 crore in May.
- Inflows into mid cap funds totaled ₹2,527 crore compared to ₹2,605 crore previously.
- Inflows into small cap funds amounted to ₹2,263 crore, down from ₹2,724 crore in the previous month.
Sectoral funds received the highest inflow among equity schemes, totaling ₹22,351 crore. Multi cap funds followed with an inflow of ₹4,708 crore, while flexi cap schemes attracted ₹3,058 crore.
